Other:
For the most part the truck is stock, the goal was to be a sleeper, so I didn't want it standing out from any other truck on the road. Its also a daily driver so being quiet and drivable came before everything else.

Future plans:
Maybe more boost. The truck does everything it was intended to do and more, at this point its "done".

Background:
I bought the Lightning a few years ago with 90k miles on it to be a daily driver. As it turns out the motor was shot (it had eaten a lobe off the cam shortly after I purchased it) so I built a simple motor for it. It has all the stock stuff in it still, with the exception of ARP hardware throughout. The only changes I made internally to the motor was to add a mustang 5.0 Roller cam and 1.7 rockers, other than that the motor is 100% internally stock- throttle body to oil pan. Just after I got the motor back together the transmission went out, at this point I paid a company to rebuild it, which was never done correctly.

Around a year ago I got the idea to turbo the truck so I began working on aquiring the parts.  In a weekend a friend and I built the hotside of the turbo kit. A few months later I scavenged a harness and computer from a 1996 Ford van to convert the truck to MAF and allow me to do OBD II datalogging. I took a weekend, made a new main and engine harness, swapped the injectors out and got the truck running with the OBD-II setup. That same weekend I installed the hotside parts of my turbo kit, which at the time had a holset HY35W. I built all the cold side pipes, the exhaust, and drove it to work on Monday.

From there everything progressed, I fixed things as needed and changed things as needed. This was at the time (and still is) my only vehicle and my daily driver, through the entire process it has never been down more than overnight.

The first time at the dyno with the HY35w and no intercooler @6psi the truck made 340rwhp and 460rwtq. At the track with this setup it went 13.2@102mph.

From there I added the intercooler and switched over from the HY35W to a PT64E that was graciously donated from my Fathers Turbo mustang (yeah its a miracle, 2 running turbo fords in the same family). As it sits currently at 9psi the first and only time at the track the truck went 12.40@108mph on a short drag radial. It dynoed 404rwhp and 561rwtq still with a stock motor.

It's still my daily driver, the turbo kit has around 20k miles on it. Its quieter than stock, drives better than stock, and well...has a lot more power than stock.
