Future plans:
The future of this car is hopefully to run 10's (or high 9's if I get really crazy). I have purchased and installed some TrickFlow heads and a new intake, but have yet to run it with this setup at the time of writing. Everything up to now was to see what I could do with the stock long block. I think 11.88 is respectable for the chassis I have. The next big step is the tranny. I would like to put the internals from a 4R70W into my AODE case with a transbrake valvebody. I want to launch hard! so hopefully building boost off the line will do the trick with the transbrake. The stock AODE has held up well with Baumann shift kit.

Background:
Purchased in late 2002, it was a bone stock Mustang GT that ran a very slow 15.3. I wanted the last of the 5.0 for a reason; I knew the day I bought it that it was going to be a turbo car, and I knew that everything for the 5.0 would typically be more affordable. I purchased the single most expensive speed part in my life a few months later, and the first speed part that ever touched this car, a PTK T64 turbo kit. My first run at the strip with the new kit had me hooked. Ever since then I have been slowly but surely beefing up the car to be able to handle more and more of the turbo's potential. My goal is a 10 second street machine that still behaves like a well mannered street car without breaking the bank (or the block). I want the best compromise of both worlds of streetability/performance for the dollar. I would also like to show the supercharger guys that more power is to be had with a turbo dollar per dollar, and to also humble some Corvette and Viper owners. My previous projects have been the typical big cam, large converter street machines that were born before I was; they were fun, just not the most enjoyable to drive for more than an hour. I hope this car fills the gap. After I've replaced the stock block with a Dart, I might then start to aim for some 9's.
